IT Alignment In his book, Competing in the Information Age, Jerry Luftman contends that the bottom line is that a firm must coordinate or align four elements: its business strategy, strategy of its information systems, its organizational infrastructure and its information technology infrastructure. IT Alignment is a component of Delivering Superior Results. Alignment is defined as applying IT in an appropriate and timely way, in harmony with business strategies, goals and needs. It is a key concern of business executives. McWains Chelsea is a stand for superior alignment among corporate executives, and we recognize the crucial need for such alignment with the CIO. To this end, we have developed some interest amongst CIOs to participate in a forum which inquires into the issues around this matter. Such inquiry is foundational in developing assessment tools that foster communication among Executives and lead to strategic initiatives that enhance the value of IT in the face of business challenges. We welcome CIOs to join us in this inquiry. Coaching People are our greatest asset. Corporations invest in their people. McWains provides a learning tool for individuals. Candidates for this program are individuals who are responsible for the executive management and business/technical operations of the business. The program begins with an assessment of the individual. Where is he/she now? A highly structured 12-hour, 12 week coaching program follows the assessment. The individual learns by selecting and achieving two business and one life goal during the 12 week program. The coach, acting as mentor, manager, trainer, and sports coach helps the individual develop a personalized strategy, stay in action, and complete the goals. The result is superior performance for the individual, who in turn Delivers Superior Results to the organization and its customers. Coaching is a powerful companion to the "Organizational Performance" program. |
